I am a senior scientist, project manager, and business class lead for HDR's Fisheries program in Washington State. I lead an accomplished group of professionals that practice in the areas of fish passage, habitat restoration, fish culture, fisheries facility design, and aquatic science.From September 2019 - April 2023, I served as HDR's fisheries and aquatic sciences technical director. In this role, I led the vision, priorities, and initiatives for this technical area, in coordination with the broader HDR fisheries leadership team.As a professional associate and senior scientist, I specialize in water quality, instream flow, aquatic life, and aquatic habitat assessment. Throughout my tenure at HDR I have regularly engaged in watershed planning, water resources and instream flow evaluation, nutrient studies, aquaculture applications, habitat restoration, hydropower studies, and mining studies. I regularly lead technical studies, developing monitoring plans and experimental designs, directing field work, and leading data analysis. I work on a variety of projects using my background in stream ecology, lake ecology, marine ecology, statistics, and experimental design.

At the Washington State Department of Ecology, I implemented the statewide biological assessment program, using benthic macroinvertebrate community indicators. I developed and calibrated regional multimetric indices. I contributed to the use of macroinvertebrate indicators in various assessment and regulatory applications, including aquatic life use impairment and stressor identification methods. I contributed to multiple projects, including intensively monitored watersheds and floodplain mining studies. Finally, I conducted southwest regional ambient water quality monitoring and contributed to the annual water quality assessment.

At WWU, I was a research assistant at the Institute for Watershed Studies. I conducted a water quality and benthic macroinvertebrate study for San Juan County. This work included monthly stream surveys on San Juan, Orcas, and Lopez Islands. The benthic macroinvertebrate survey evaluated community differences between perennial and seasonal streams.
