Bio: Chad Knutsen was born in the wilds of Northwest Washington and raised by wolves. Stories of distant lands and adventure inspired him to venture abroad through Europe, the far East and the distant South, entrenching himself in the cultures and peoples of everywhere. He attended film school in Los Angeles and went on to start up several production companies, working with a myriad of clients along the way, from A-Listers to up-and-comers. After becoming tired of Los Angeles, Chad ventured to central America to shoot a documentary about the end of the Mayan Calendar, but when the weather turned mad, the entire crew fled back to NYC. Except Chad, who rallied a dozen strangers together and decided to venture towards Belize, build an eco community (The Ancient Future Mystery People's Pirate Academy), and work towards the legalization, and cultivation of industrial Hemp in that emerging market. After a few a years of building and living in a cozy, albeit roughly hewn mahogany treefort in the jungle, teaching and studying permaculture, survival, hermetic philosophy, and the art of self governance, Chad returned to LA eventually to pursue the commercialization of a number of technologies he had identified on his travels as big problem solvers. This is what led to his initiation into the FoT, and his current work with advanced technologies and actionable futurist projects. Much of Chad's work is focused on converting waste into abundance. Identifying real solutions to problems rather than cures for symptoms, increasing sustainability and efficiency in the agricultural, mining, construction, energy, and food industries to name a few.
