The University of Victoria is a public research institution in Victoria, BC, Canada. UVic is home to 21,000 students in undergraduate and graduate studies. I worked under Dr. Zuomin Dong within the Green Vehicle Research and Testing Center. During my co-op I:• decommissioned and safely stored the components of EcoCAR1, a plug-in hybrid competition vehicle based on a 2009 Saturn Vue• re-energized the previously decomissioned EcoCAR2, a plug-in hybrid competition vehicle based on a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. • created an electric only control scheme for EcoCAR2 that allowed it to run on electric only will full vehicle functionality. • installed a GM LE9 engine into EcoCAR2 and developed controls to start and run the vehicle on internal combustion.• completed a major maintenance on our Mustang Dynamometer and wrote protocols for safe testing so that it may be used by the University again.

Zellstoff-Celgar is a Kraft Pulp Mill in Castelgar, BC. At my time of working there we pushed out 1500 Air-Dry-Metric-Tonnes (ADMT) per day. My role includes CAD, piping simulation, project management, and stress analysis. During my co-op I:• Managed a project to install a chipper brake saving up about 2 hours of operation per day. • Evaluated safe access solutions to our large log crane• Determined the flow capacity of our domestic system by generating head curves for each part of the system• Created equipment maps in AutoCAD LT to speed up location-specific training for lubrication technicians• Performed 3D modeling and stress analysis in Autodesk's Inventor suite on brackets and mounts• Improved the function and accuracy of our lubrication program and vibration analysis program

ANDRITZ Delta Service Center is a manufacturing center for Pulp and Paper components, specializing in rebuilds. My role includes database development and management, process optimization, shop management, and scheduling. During my co-op I: • Developed a scheduling system using the native tools provided in SAP (our ERP program) and custom tools developed as Excel add-ins • Spec'd and created a rollout guide for an IoT implementation to return Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) about our welding efficiency and arc time to be implemented by the next co-op student • Developed a program for tracking the types of wear that occurred in the consumable items in our assemblies which returned the frequency of defects and damages per customer and geographic location so we can more accurately advise customers on what they need to do to ensure long assembly life • Advised and creating guides for using SAP • Improved the workflow of our disassembly procedures by standardizing and simplifying the paperwork involved • Assisted project managers in finding and verifying drawings, creating BOMs and routings, and tracking project progression

ANDRITZ Delta Service Center is a manufacturing center for Pulp and Paper components, specializing in rebuilds. My role includes database development and management, automation, assisting project managers, and data analysis. During my co-op I: • Reverse engineered a Non Conformance Report (NCR) database from an old database that they were using that was created in French (they couldn't easily update it because of this) and crashed frequently. • Fixed a database for tracking hours spent by the shop floor on certain projects to take accuracy from 90% to 100%. • Created a SharePoint-linked database for tracking our finances and analyzing upcoming projects for forecasting accounting-accurate sales and costs. • Automated the creation of excel workbooks formatted a particular way from SAP exports using SAP GUI scripting within VBA to generate the data and VBA to save it and format it for print. • Pulled drawing for projects from our drawing management system and verified their accuracy. • Collected data and created a report on the vibrations in various shop locations to determine a bearing storage that would avoid false brinelling via amplitude and Fourier analysis.
