The HBCU ICE initiative is a collaborative STEM pipeline-to-market based initiative and innovative social enterprise-based platform that seeks transformational change and impact across the historically black college and university (HBCU) landscape. HBCU ICE represents a partnership between the UNCF, Association for Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) and the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities. We are working with partners in Silicon Valley including Stanford University and leading tech-companies in the Valley, along with stakeholders in regions across the country.

The National Advisory Council on Innovation & Entrepreneurship (NACIE) is charged with identifying and recommending solutions to issues critical to driving the innovation economy, including enabling entrepreneurs and firms to successfully access and develop a skilled, globally competitive workforce.The Council will serve as a vehicle for ongoing dialogue with the entrepreneurship and workforce development communities, including working with business and trade associations. The duties of the Council are solely advisory, and it reports to the Secretary of Commerce through the Economic Development Administration and the Office of the Secretary.

As a Member of the DC Innovation and Technology Inclusion Council, I serve as an advisor to District officials and stakeholders to develop strategies on ways to grow the city’s innovation and tech economy in an inclusive manner.

The Philadelphia Biotechnology and Life Sciences Institute (PBLSI) was a non-profit initiative that addresses human capital/bioworkforce development needs for the Greater Philadelphia Region.

As Chair of the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education taskforce, I am responsible for helping the School District of Philadelphia shape its vision of STEM education including community engagement, building a pipeline of STEM educators, teacher professional development in STEM disciplines and designing new STEM curriculum. I also assist the SDP STEM Education Taskforce's efforts to work with local and regional educational stakeholders on STEM related issues.
