Our mission is to leverage proprietary computational systems, including A.I., to accelerate development of novel drug alternatives for life threatening diseases like cancer, bacterial infections and muscular dystrophy.At A2A Pharmaceuticals, I am responsible for overall scientific, programmatic, administrative, and financial oversight of the project to advance A2A’s pipeline and scientific platform. I work directly with and supervise A2A Pharmaceuticals personnel and fee-for-service contract research organizations (CROs) to carry out the proposed studies and analyses. I conduct research on ‘hit to lead’ development processes as well as lead optimization and preclinical development. Additionally, I am developing A2A’s target-specific workflow using machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) tools.

Advisor: Dr. Peter Wipf• Developed mitochondria-targeting ROS generators (XJB-Lapachone) for the treatment of cancer.• Synthesized JP4 analogs with improved PK properties leading to highly skin permeable analogs for a potential topological application as radiation mitigators.• Independently designed and synthesized active AZD6738 analog suitable for affinity tagging and prepared analog linked beads as well as a biotin conjugated AZD6738 analog.• Collaborated with researchers in a variety of fields.

PI: Dr. Donna Huryn• Extensively contributed to drug discovery project in the NCI’s Chemical Biology Consortium (CBC). • Developed structure-based and ligand-based models for discovery of small molecule inhibitors of the AAA ATPase p97.• Constructed an in-house Mercaptophile Library (300 thiol-reactive compounds) from ~52,000 UPCMLD Library to identify small molecule inhibitors of ATG4b.• Evaluated and prioritized ~3,000 hits from high-throughput screening (HTS) to initiate a medicinal chemistry program targeting the Artemis Endonuclease. Synthesized analogs of active hits to develop small molecule inhibitors of the Artemis.• Worked with team members and actively involved in weekly/monthly based team meetings.• Worked with CROs to accomplish project tasks; assisted in key intermediate synthesis by providing optimized synthetic route and experimental procedures for p97 project.
