Malabe

- Developed and established materials engineering degree program in connection with University of Curtin, Australia and set up required infrastructure.

Achievements:- Lead both the Camso R&D & academic (SLINTEC) team to a common goal during the JV project collaborations that was based on a largest private-public science collaboration initiative in Sri Lanka.- Liaised with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and expectations and develop strategic direction to R&D performance materials- Developed effective R&D processes through well structured documentation processes and test results/data logging approaches- Collaborated on standardizing R&D processes and methodologies with multinational stakeholder from Belgium (solideal), Canada (camoplast) Projects:- Brought the assistance of Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) in combination with FEA tools to boost the testing process by eliminating time-consuming mechanical test routines (2012-2013)- Developed nanomaterial- based tire compounds by using locally sourced montmorillonite (MMT) and organically modifying: and patented (2009-2012)

- Collaborated with the scientific teams in SLINTEC to reach industrial norms and requirements through strict and fast timeline targets that set by Camso- Acquired new testing technologies (eg DMA) to Camso and trained on hi-end characterization methodologies such as, XRD, AFM, TEM, SEM, FTIR, DSC to bring deep science into R&D developments
