Developed an index to estimate affordable housing need across Alberta using administrative and Statistics Canada census data. The model prioritizes municipalities based on their need for community housing and seniors lodge facilities. The model has been adopted by the Capital Division as part of their scoring matrix for capital submissions by Housing Management Bodies.Developed an mathematical model to evaluate the difference between rent supplement vs capital development approach to providing affordable housing. The model was further expanded to simulate various social housing programs (existing and conceptual) to determine their cost effectiveness. The analysis provided insight into optimal regional and program allocation of resources in alleviating housing need.

Developed the Physician Cost Drivers Analysis that provided a consistent and standard method of evaluating government health care spending on fee-for-service physicians. The model was subsequent adopted in three other health care sectors (Long-Term Care, Pharmacy, and Acute Care). The results of the analysis was showcased on a Tableau and SAS Visual Analytics interactive dashboards.Collaborated with the Financial Planning Unit to conduct a business analysis on the unit's financial budgeting process and identified potential IT solutions to improve operational efficiency. Developed an advanced Excel VBA application that automated the generation of budgeting workbooks which was estimated to save over 500 resource-hours annually. Assisted the Alberta Health Negotiations Team in preparation for and during the negotiation withvarious analytics requests to achieve an anticipated savings of $500 million dollars. This included the development of a 50-page Physicians Service Study that compared physician earnings & workload across provinces. The study provided various levels of business intelligence to formulate various negotiations approach.

Scripted in the statistical software R to query, clean and transform data as well as perform statistical analysis to automate the generation of PDF reports using the knitr add-on package. The data was also used to developed a self-serve BI dashboard using Excel PowerPivot to visualize various socio-demographic data that helped informed future marketing campaigns and strategies.Assisted in the design of the quarterly Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) survey to improve data validity and reliability.
