Photoshop, Acrobat, and Flash are the software applications that have become the cornerstone of my career. I was employed as a member of the Imaging Department by the San Gabriel Valley News Group (Los Angeles News Group from 1997 until 2009 when the company and the entire industry experienced severe economic pressures and cut dozens of positions including mine. My daily responsibilities as a Photo Digital Imaging Technician were to download, re-touch as necessary, process, and prepare for publication all photographs and graphics for each edition of the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Pasadena Star News and the Whittier Daily news. As a part of the assignment I became familiar with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Dreamweaver and Flash although those applications were not in daily use in my prior position. For many years I worked alone in the Department during the “swing” shift that ended just before the presses ran the next day’s edition and it was not extraordinary for me to process over one hundred photographs during a single shift. I am accustomed to working under strict deadline pressures. I work quickly, accurately, and without supervision. I have extensive experience in working with both Macintosh and PC platforms. Throughout my career I have been able to adapt to new hardware and software requirements and additional applications as needed.
