Broadcast journalist turned civil servant! Previously a senior broadcast journalist for Global. Responsible for producing and reading news bulletins, conducting interviews and investigating and reporting on local news stories for Heart East Anglia. Broadcasting live hits on LBC. I covered stories across the whole of the East of England. I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Leeds which has been rated the best communications department in the UK. My degree is BJTC accredited which has provided me with an extensive knowledge of media law and first class social media skills. I have experience producing television, radio and online news as well as, documentary.I hung up my headphones in 2018 to join the Ministry of Justice press office, leading one of the busiest newsdesks in Whitehall. Managing a large team through the covid crisis and several terrorist attacks. My love for prisons then found me working for the CEO of HMPPS and Second Permanent Secretary leading on comms, prison supply and counter-terrorism.I then moved to prison supply strategy, working on the delivery of the 20k prison supply programme and long term supply options. After returning from maternity leave, I am now head of engagement for a new exciting team looking at service transformation across the MoJ to successfully rebuild the justice system and improve ways of working. I’ve developed an extensive knowledge and network at the Ministry of Justice since joining in 2018.
