I'm a senior communications and marketing professional with two decades of experience both in-house and agency-side. Prior to joining Accel as VP of Communications, I ran my own consulting practice where I worked with startups to help them launch and build brand awareness.Throughout my career, I've launched dozens of companies and products, handling everything from strategy development and execution to managing teams, agencies and vendors. I've also served as a day-to-day senior communications lead that reports to C-level executives and who handles all aspects of public relations from media relations, crisis communications, internal communications, messaging and content development to brand positioning and media training. Some of my strongest skills are story building. I love discovering and weaving together compelling narratives that capture the attention of press, investors, influencers and customers via strategic press campaigns, thoughtful blog posts or other vehicles like data, video or events. I also have strong experience in devising and executing successful local and international press campaigns.

Reported to and provided strategic counsel to the CEO. I was initially tasked with growing Sprig's presence in San Francisco. That day-of success also translated into long-term results: Sprig's Guest Chef Night is now a regular and anticipated part of its service and many of the media I introduced them to have resulted in long term relationships for the company.Additionally, I worked to create a compelling story narrative and tagline that conveyed Sprig’s emphasis on local farmers and ingredients to help it stand out in an increasingly crowded market, in addition to capturing the interest of national press, including: multiple stories in Business Insider, Forbes, Fox Business, NPR Marketplace, San Francisco Chronicle and Vogue. -

Our work together was focused on launching BloomThat in its second city: Los Angeles, in addition to driving local and consumer cycles leading up to and during Valentine's Day -- the biggest sales day of the year for the company.Given we were working against an incredibly short runway leading up to launch, I leveraged and managed local partners within my network who have exceptional local and consumer media relationships to augment my own efforts. We briefed nearly a dozen reporters resulting in significant day-of coverage across a broad spectrum of business and tech press including TechCrunch, MIT Tech Review, Fast Company, VentureBeat, AllThingsD and others which then drove post launch press in major consumer outlets like Good Morning America.Following the initial launch, I continued to work with the team to announce its rebrand from Sherpa to Osito, in addition to the general availability of the iOS app and its Android release. Senior Public Relations ManagerYelp.Com Mar 2008 - Jun 2012San Francisco, Ca, UsI joined Yelp shortly after its Series C funding as its second PR person based in New York. I was originally tasked with growing Yelp's presence in NYC, and after securing a variety of hyper local coverage from a weekly Yelp feature in The Metro, a daily paper that's passed out to millions of New Yorkers on the subway to securing a C1 Yelp cover story in New York Times Dining In/Dining Out Section: “Eat and Tell” that ran in the historic November 5th, 2008 print and online edition of the paper, my role quickly grew to support other local regions throughout the East Coast, South and Midwest. Additionally, I also drove Yelp's early international rollout where I was tasked with creating and executing the press strategy for Yelp’s first ever non-US site launch in the United Kingdom. I then managed subsequent international launches including France, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Spain. As part of my day to day driving consumer and corporate media relations, I also worked closely with Yelp's Product & Engineering teams to provide recommendations on launch strategies for dozens of mobile and product releases, resulting in ongoing relationships and coverage with tech and business press. As a result of my work with the engineering team, we conceived a popular blog post series featuring Yelp data. The result: two of the most popular posts ever done. Yelp’s first annual restaurant list alone resulted in a 376% increase in readers for that week, as well as significant coverage in local and national daily print, broadcast and radio outlets. I also used data to spearhead Yelp’s first infographic celebrating “Yelp’s 20 Millionth Review” resulting in dozens of pieces of coverage.A big milestone for Yelp and a professional one for me, was Yelp's March 2012 IPO where I collaborated with Yelp internal teams and outside counsel to draft strategy and messaging, supported on-site press meetings with CEO day-of at NYSE, as well as coordinated with press and photographers. -
