Understanding the disconnect between design and actual operation is the assistant designer's responsibility to enhance design effect and manufacturing quality.•Due to the risk of dyeing process, there are few product in market that combine silk with hanging dyeing. According to feedback, customers have a high acceptance of this collection, mainly because the hand-dyed highlights the style and also the comfort of the fabric. Compared with the same period last year, sales increased by 15%.PROJECT: LEISHAN BORCADEThe brand collaborates with the artisans of Leishan Brocade to transmit modern oriental aesthetics. The designer visited the village of Miao and worked with the them to present the New Orientalism .•As the designer of this project, respond for design, yarn selection, communication with artist , fitting, and quality control.•The most challenging aspects of the sample are the production and communication. It is challenging to control development and quality due to the distance. So that I could follow the progress and exchange issue and images with partner, I developed a cloud assignment list along the process.•The product is advertised as being customizable with the aim of boosting brand awareness and image. Once the product is launched, it sparks conversations among customers and successfully boosts the collection's sales.
