C.Wong Studio is an experimental fashion atelier that specializes in custom-made clothing. Our philosophy is centered around sustainable fashion, achieved through the use of recycled Japanese antique fabrics and various techniques such as washing, patchwork, and distressing to breathe into new life each piece. In 2021, we introduced the New Kimono concept, which builds upon traditional kimono designs with a modified silhouette that is more suitable for everyday wear. All of our fabrics are sourced from traditional markets in Kyoto, Japan, and the fabrics' age and history add warmth and a unique identity to each garment. Although we are not the first brand to introduce this concept, our attention to detail and focus on sustainability set us apart.

PROJECT: HAND-DYING COLLECTIONThe 2018 summer collection is constructed of pure silk fabric mixed with hand-dying techniques, carrying on the brand DNA and enhancing product competitiveness. •The natural capillary phenomena presents the biggest challenge in the hanging dyeing and tie-dyeing processes since it has numerous unpredictable issue that lower the yield rate. Understanding the disconnect between design and actual operation is the assistant designer's responsibility to enhance design effect and manufacturing quality.•Due to the risk of dyeing process, there are few product in market that combine silk with hanging dyeing. According to feedback, customers have a high acceptance of this collection, mainly because the hand-dyed highlights the style and also the comfort of the fabric. Compared with the same period last year, sales increased by 15%.PROJECT: LEISHAN BORCADEThe brand collaborates with the artisans of Leishan Brocade to transmit modern oriental aesthetics. The designer visited the village of Miao and worked with the them to present the New Orientalism .•As the designer of this project, respond for design, yarn selection, communication with artist , fitting, and quality control.•The most challenging aspects of the sample are the production and communication. It is challenging to control development and quality due to the distance. So that I could follow the progress and exchange issue and images with partner, I developed a cloud assignment list along the process.•The product is advertised as being customizable with the aim of boosting brand awareness and image. Once the product is launched, it sparks conversations among customers and successfully boosts the collection's sales.

PROJECT : 20th ANNIVERSARY COLLECTIONThe classic designs of those brands in the past 20 years have reappeared in stage with a new aesthetic, allowing people to re-examine the core of clothing value.•Promoted to main designer for manufacture process, including garment dyeing, embroidery effect and graphic design.•Using in the embroidery technique is two to three times greater than that of the competing brand. The strength of the machine presser foot and the weight of the fabric were ultimately found to present the most ideal work after numerous testing.•Pigment dye and cold dye is one of the classic techniques in brand identity . The key to communicating with technicians is understanding how to fit the color impact while retaining the quality of the garment, temperture, dye stuff, time all are the important factors.• Due to these systematic training, including the process of inspiration, fabric selection, fitting, craftmanship and enterprise training, laying a solid foundation for future working.
