After successfully supporting the business as the Subject Matter Expert for SAN/NAS storage and Business Continuity for Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, in April 2013 I was promoted to ICT System Administrator - Data Management Specialist.My core responsibilities are ensuring that all Data Storage architecture in the global Fisher & Paykel environment is reliably managed through effective availability and capacity management of SAN architecture and endeavoring that all data volumes and presented LUN’s were highly available to the production environment with data replication and proactive support involving patching processes.I have also eliminated capacity management issues for our core file data storage by successfully migrating core critical business data to a new implemented SAN Equallogic storage solution. Other storage implementations include provisonment and installation of Dell Equallogic SAN’s for our highly available SAP environment In addition my role involved protecting all company servers and applications through effective backup and Disaster Recovery management. I am also the primary contact for the company in regards to incident/problem management and change/release management for our global backup infrastructure. In this role, I successfully improved our business protection by implementing and operating a new global image based backup solution that has significantly improved recovery times for our server environment from a 24 hours RPO & RTO to a 2 hours RTO, and increased RTO points by over 10 times for our server infrastructure. Other recent projects include being a core member of a team that are currently migrating our International user base to a Cloud based email storage solution. (Microsoft Office 365) Other key responsibilities of my role included, technical documentation, rolling out training to other team members, as well as fully communicating system recovery statistics to senior management on a monthly basis.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Limited is a thriving, cutting-edge New Zealand medical device company with a wide and growing range of highly innovative healthcare products operating in 120 countries around the world. My main responsibilities were to provide ICT operational support to resolve system issues, and to recommend and implement improvements to ensure ICT services were continually running reliably and to achieve service level expectations. I provided second and third line support to the global business in regards to server management. The role involved support of over 120 servers worldwide across 15 global affiliates. (Microsoft Server 2003, through to Server 2012). The company consists of over 4000 users that rely on our ICT server infrastructure, my role also consisted of out of hours on call support for the other global ICT teams that were based at our other manufacturing sites and sales and distribution offices around the world.My role-involved support and resolution of alerts produced though SCOM for our operational environment as well as management of our services including Exchange (encompassing threats identified using Mail Marshal). I also facilitated user account creation and support of the Activate system, LAN/WAN TCP/IP support, Print Management, Backup reporting and support, and implementation of new infrastructure and services for the business.

That was logically partitioned into 5 separate partitions. I performed my tasks while manning a busy IT helpdesk for approximately 600 users based at the Queenborough site. I successfully completed business critical hardware upgrades, system software and operating system upgrades.
