Computer Support (12/97 – 8/98)Duties include configuring LAN printers and printing in LAN networks; adding or deleting network drivers and configurations; establishing communication between work stations and routers; resetting local servers via communication with home office; moving and replacing of PC work stations and printers; supporting employees in MS Suite, including troubleshooting, system maintenance, equipment recommendations and general software usage; preparing claims review customized presentations. Special projects included Win 3.1 to Win 95 to Win 98 migration; upgrading HDDs and RAMs. adding or removing modems and configuration; upgrading Client 32, Virus, Office 97, Top Rate, Open Rating and Proforma; and installing and configuring Windows NT domain and extracting software for the human resources department.Claims Examiner (8/95 – 8/98)Responsibilities varied due to position modifications, but generally included the following: investigating AOE/COE claims; negotiating settlements with unrepresented injured workers and applicant counsels; managing claim files from opening to closure, including medical control and vocational rehabilitation; going to court as required; paying workers’ compensation benefits in a timely manner and in accordance to the California Labor Code; typing legal and rehab investigation forms; setting up initial files, including phone calls to insureds, claimants, and doctors; and making phone calls such as bill calls and follow-up on medical and rehab status. Maintained knowledge of wage loss computation, TD, PD, VRMA rates. Also completed all clinical functions of job.Claims Assistant (8/92 - 8/94)Duties include but not limited to the timely processing of all claims benefits checks in accordance to the Labor Code for temporary disability, permanent disability, vocational rehabilitation. Processing of all medical and legal billings. Preparing reports for client meetings.
