My career started with employment within the UK with Bechtel, working in the design team based in the Warrington Office. I worked on the design of CTRL, focusing on the design of all the services, overheads, rail and drainage interfaces at the transition from the Thames Marshes Viaduct into the tunnel under the river. Once completed and after a short secondment working in the design and standards section, I then moved to work on the West Coast Main Line. Here I worked in the Line of Route Upgrade team whom were responsible for safely raising the speed of the railway to 125mph operation. My section was between Rugby & Crewe, working predominantly within the Network Rail and Jarvis offices, attending weekend works and possessions, agreeing to the programmes, designs and implementations out on site.On leaving Bechtel, I joined the Canal and River Trust (formally British Waterways). Within this company I have been responsible for large sections of the West Midlands Region as Senior Engineer, both the main canals but also the feeder channels and reservoirs that support it. I have also had line management training and been responsible for a team of 5 employees. I am currently working for the Project Management Team as a Senior Project Manager. I regularly am working and liaising with all types of working teams including Direct Services, Heritage, Environment, Engineering, Legal, Financial, External Contractors, Utility companies, Framework Contractors. This networking I believe leads to a stronger team performance and enables best practices from different departments to be learnt, shared and used, both internally and also externally with our frameworks contractors.I believe that I am a strong, confident and enthusiastic team player, who actively seeks to exceed the challenges set before me. I am always looking for opportunities to expand and develop my knowledge, and would be pleased to have a conversation with you about the past, present and future if you so wish...
