I'm working in the Learning and Knowledge Department.EF Academy is an International Boarding School (High School-age students).

Preparing High School Seniors in Brooklyn to pass the Advanced Placement Literature examination and get to and succeed in their university of choice.

The Upper Prep section of The Grange School comprises pupils from 3rd Básico to 6th Básico (equivalent of year 4 to year 7 in England). There are approximately 155 pupils per year group: i.e. about 620 in total. The school is fully bilingual and follows both the Chilean curriculum and the National Curriculum for England. IAPS/NAHT member.I was responsible for the learning and wellbeing of the students and led a team of approximately 65 members of staff.*Conducting weekly assemblies and delivering addresses to parents and pupils on special occasions.*Completed Duke of Edinburgh International Award Leader training, and Adventurous Journey (Expedition) Supervisor and Assessor training.*Presented to the 3rd 'Kosmopolitis' Educational Conference on the topic 'Passion for Teaching'. (kosmopolitis.cl)*Trained as BSO inspector (level 1) and for LAHC review team (this including a great experience conducting a school review of an LAHC school that had implemented a school-wide problem-based learning curriculum).*Led the development of a new Learning Support department and revision of policies on inclusion and differentiation. Coordinated visit of Rhonda Bondie (Harvard University) and school-wide training with her in order to develop inclusive pedagogical practices.*Led the transition to school-wide flipped learning methodology and remote learning platforms during unprecedented disruptions due to the pandemic in 2020.

Led departmental INSETS on modelling, effective marking, peer assessment, effective use of learning objectives and new classroom tech apps.Leading the department in preparation to offer three new A2 elective options.Leading the department in preparation for BSO and LAHC inspection this year: (UPDATE)- we have successfully achieved BSO status, making us one of only 4 schools in Latin America to do so. Blackpool Sixth Form College (now known just as Blackpool Sixth) is a large school for students from 16 to 18 years old, and is consistently ranked amongst the best state colleges in the UK.I developed a new curriculum and materials from scratch, digitalizing the department by creating and uploading resources to an e-learning platform. Created a learning wiki for students to build upon and share their way around the syllabus content. Started a blog to share extension activities and ideas. Experimented with a range of e-learning and social networking platforms and methodologies.Prepared students for A-level Philosophy, Religious Studies (AQA), Critical Thinking (OCR) and AQA Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).Was a central part of the original team introducing the IB (International Baccalaureate) qualification to the first cohort at Blackpool Sixth, coordinating, planning, organising and teaching all of the TOK course and leading the introduction of the Extended Essay.Ofsted inspection report 2009: "Outstanding".Cohort size (number of students taking Philosophy per year) grew from 45 to 110 under my tenure.Involved in peer observations and observing and advising in the hiring process.Form tutor for Gifted and Talented cohort.Member of the Teaching and Learning Working Group.Member of the Equality and Diversity Working Group.Peer mentoring program.University entrance guidance (UCAS application process and personal statement advice).Cricket coaching.
