CurrentDr. Everett specializes in pulmonary and critical care medicine with particular expertise in tuberculosis, non-tuberculous mycobacterial disease, interstitial lung disease, and obstructive lung disease. He is the Director of Critical Care Services at Mills-Peninsula Medical Center and serves as a Sepsis Champion for Mills-Peninsula Medical Center Burlingame campus. Dr. Everett is an attending physician in the Intensive Care Unit at Mills-Peninsula Hospital and serves as the Medial Director of Critical Care. Under his leadership, Mills-Peninsula Medical Center has developed an in-house Critical Care Medicine team that provides 24/7 coverage for a 24 bed mixed medical and surgical ICU. The Critical Care Medicine team has played an instrumental role in hospital's initiative to become a comprehensive stroke center and to provide advanced structural heart and heart failure services, including ECMO. During COVID, Mills-Peninsula became one of 2 referral centers in Sutter Health for VV-ECMO.Dr. Everett is one of 3 physicians serving on the hospital's Sepsis Task Force. Under his leadership, sepsis mortality at Mills-Peninsula Medical Center has been in the top decile or better in the country and has consistently led the Sutter Health system.He is also a consultant in Pulmonary Medicine on an inpatient and outpatient basis. He maintains an office practice for longitudinal follow of patients with chronic lung disease. Finally, he has experience the Sutter Health Bay Area eICU, a telemedicine service that cares for patients and ensures adherence to important quality measures at approximately 14 Bay Area ICUs.
