I am currently active duty and will be for a while longer. Not actively looking for jobs because of that but, I don't mind passing on good opportunities to my network though.I have been in the military since Nov 2008 and started my life there as a medical technician. After some soul searching I applied and was accepted to retrain into Cyberwarfare/Cybersecurity which, I have been happily doing since.I started my cybersecurity Journey at the U.S. Air Force Computer Emergency Response Team (AFCERT) as an analyst in August 2015. After about a year there I demonstrated superior leadership qualities and cyber skills and was elevated to the role of Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager (the AFCERT calls them Crew Commanders). As a SOC Manager for the AFCERT I oversaw the defense and security of the $2.4 Billion Air Force Information Network (AFIN) and was directly responsible for responding to dozens of sophisticated attacks and incidents daily. In July 2020 I transitioned to the USAF Red Team where I have been a penetration tester at since. With the USAF Red Team my duties are to plan and execute penetration tests against niche and one-of-a kind military weapon system networks, conduct penetration tests against the greater AFIN, and act as an advanced persistent threat (APT) in training scenarios to provide advanced training to USAF defensive cyber forces.
