Freighter & Marine Engineer working for Alcatel Submarine Networks within the Marine department. A broad role combining the management and overseeing of cable storage and handling equipment whilst working with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure fibre optic cable and associated equipment is safely stowed, handled and transported Responsibilities include: - Management of freighter mobilization, transfer operations worldwide for telecommunications cable and associated submerged equipment- Design of cable storage and cable handling equipment- Managing fabrication, commissioning, and planned maintenance of cable handling equipment- Team supervision, QHSE and costs control of freighter and depot operations- Working in close conjunction with Project Managers, and Vessel crew- Utilising working knowledge of stability, offshore/marine safety, ISM and ISPS codes, vessel management and coordination, marine construction and other core engineering skills.
