Mr. Ray currently serves as a Lead Security Engineer and Architect for United States government clients. Charles is responsible for managing a team of 4 people. Charles heads up bi-annual penetration tests that focus on exploring and resolving the findings to harden the clients environment. The high priority task was remediating the Log4J vulnerability across hundreds of internal applications along with coordinating and resolving known vulnerable user facing websites. Charles architected the vulnerability management platform from the group up, implemented the EDR technology and assisted with the antivirus transition, all of which saved the client over 40 man hours per week in tool management. His team of engineers have implemented sprints and daily standup which have streamlined work completions resulting in an average of 10 additional tasks being completed each week.

Mr. Ray served as a Security Engineer for federal clients. Charles is responsible for managing and deploying high priority security tools. Charles leads efforts with the ops team to investigate and analyze alerts from the SIEM, IPS, NAC and other tools with a 24-hour turnaround. He facilitates bi-yearly penetration tests which result in actionable findings that serve to harden the client’s security posture.

Mr. Ray serves as an analyst on the Identity and Access Management team consulting for federal clients. Charles and his team have developed enhancements to the clients’ SailPoint IdentityIQ installation, streamlining over 25 processes to eliminate manual work for approximately two hundred employees. To drive success throughout the lifecycle of the development, testing and implementation of system enhancements, Charles has worked closely with clients and internal developers to gather requirements from business SMEs and coordinate with leadership to minimize system downtime and ensure schedule punctuality.Projects Include:• Debugged XML code to pinpoint specific Production errors to assist in quick resolution for Production defects. • Facilitated user acceptance testing (UAT) for development updates to workflows that streamlined the Joiner, Mover, and Leaver process of external employees in SailPoint instance.• Integrated with third party tools including Splunk and CyberArk to streamline provisioning based upon lifecycle events.• Managed multiple SailPoint queues where over 100 identity requests are created daily. The team maintains consistent communication with the clients to manage priorities, targeting a 24-hour response time for all email or queue items.• Led the composition and writing of the technical section of the teams’ re-compete proposal that resulted in a renewed contract.

In his role as an Operations Specialist, Mr. Ray serves as a project manager, helping translate critical business needs to software developers for the development and implementation of an application that houses transactions of over $12 billion. He also leads the performance testing of the application, ensuring successful back-end processing so consumer-facing functionality is not impacted upon release. Projects included: • Led a team of twenty-five in performance testing efforts throughout the development and implementation process of the application. Through load testing, stress testing, and configuration testing, the team was able to ensure that the system functionality successfully withstood a variety of conditions prior to releasing to end users. • Directed efforts in business requirements gathering and management as a liaison between business units and software developers for a large-scale Agile project, helping implement an application system that streamlines jobsite management processes, resulting in company savings of $30 million per year. • Supports the technical integration of internal systems by identifying and testing key system dependencies, ensuring that all inter-connected applications operate in coordination with valid data flows to provide expected results. • Developed multifaceted SQL reports that provided teams with essential data to ensure schedules delays were eliminated.

During his time as a Management Advisory Services intern, Mr. Ray led the Compliance department of the company in requirements gathering and developing test scenarios for a $40 million IT platform development project, helping allocate limited resources and streamline the development process. He also served as a project team lead in developing the regulatory strategy component of a business plan to install a PV solar system to decrease utility costs by 3%. During this project, he created user-friendly pivot tables and quick guides from in-depth analysis of regulatory mandates from the US government.

As a Marketing Fellow Mr. Ray conducted user interface inventory analysis with the IT team to ensure user-friendly web-portals. He participated in an effort to restructure the HTML coding of internal website frameworks and conduct Search Engine Optimization for over 20 lawyers to maximize webpage views and increase company recognition. In a four-month timeframe, webpage views increased by 10%.

As a business development intern in the iSoftStone Beijing office, Mr. Ray led a team of three in mobile application testing for an emerging voice recognition technology, helping generate new revenue streams for the company.
