Former elected Union Representative for the United Steel Workers of America (USWA) (1977-80). Published author of two novels: "Shenanigan" (1998) and "Through a Dark Passage" (2001). Also the author of "Man of Letters," a compilation of his letters to the Los Angeles Times with commentary and essays. Frequent contributor to the L.A. Times with over 160 published letters. Native of East Providence, Rhode Island, now living in Manhattan Beach, California. Member in good-standing of the 75th Ranger Regiment Association and Unit Director for the Rangers and LRRPs of the 101st Airborne Division. Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). "Fight on Hill 809" is the true story of a battle in April 1971 which involved my Ranger company and other elements of the 101st Airborne Division.
