As key member of New Product (& Process) Launch Team, generated $14 Million gross with radically new product type, Same cross-functional team increased throughput 60% with improvements to new process manufacturing cell equipment and operations. Supported new process with tooling purchases, maintenance, and eventual tool replacement for both new and existing programs. Improvement Team Developed Quick-Changeover method for finishing process that reduced 20 min change to 5 minutes and reduced needed tool count to execute the change. (*Bought out by Black & Decker and operation was moved) Sourced, purchased, installed, & trained operators on automated powder-coating system with quick color change feature. Optimized sawblade heat-treating and added post-process for 75% reduction in run-out to provide professional cabinet makers with ultra-smooth edge finish requiring little or no sanding before final finish application. Improved dipcoat system to reduce visual defects 80% and quick-change spray head to simplify maintenance. Improved tooling materials and specifications for greater sharpening accuracy and 60% tool life increase. Developed signature powder coatings for key customer router bits and deck blades.
