Project managed the construction of Celtel Zambia's Technical Centre designed to accommodate a NOC and the networks's core systems.As Technical Project Manager my responsibilities where limited to the adherence of the construction to the requirements of telecommunications systems to be housed in the Technical Center. Ensured the building specification conformed to laid out standards for housing telecommunication equipment.Coordination with other Project persons with site-wide responsibilities.Scheduling and forecasting of the project as well as handling logistics and supply chain management with equipment vendors, contractors and suppliers.Planning of material requirements and resource allocation as desired by stakeholders.Reviewed project status reports during each operational phase.Prepared weekly project status reports for management.Coordination of the migration of core systems from the old site to the new Technical Centre.

Team lead for the operation and maintenance of Celtel Zambia's core network elements (MSC/MSS/HLR, IN, VAS, OSS, service nodes). Siemens D900, Ericsson AXE, Intervoice Brite Service Node and SMSC.Coordinating core network technical staff resources in the implementation of system changes, upgrades, and the additions of new services and network elements. Reporting the Network Operations Manager, led a team of technicians with the responsibility of implementation of new network elements including acceptance testing of hardware and software function of the Siemens D900 GSM Mobile Switching system in a greenfield environment.Maintenance and administration of the InterVoice Brite service node and prepaid charging system.Tracking, monitoring, isolation and resolution of hardware faults using approved switching procedures as defined by the Siemens Operating procedures library.Escalation of unresolved faults to Siemens TAC 3 support as appropriate.Preparation of fault logs, daily reports and system performance reports.Implementation of change requests/planned works using approved procedures.Updating of switch databse records by way of billing backups, weekly dumps and system load tests.Perform routine maintenance on all relevant network nodes including interfaces to the BSS subsystem.Responding to and following up of customer complaints, testing and simulation of customer problems and closure of customer trouble tickets.
