I contributed to the development of the Banshee Ground Control Station's automated locking system which used an induction coil connected to a Raspberry Pi 3 and Arduino to detect when the drone had landed via eddy currents. As part of the team, I assisted in constructing an amplifier that would step the RP3’s 3.3V output to be readable to the Arduino’s 5V input. We then implemented the design on PCB, decreasing the physical size of the system. At the same time, I worked on the Arduino’s interrupt routine which allowed for the locking routine to start as soon as the drone had landed.

I contributed to the development of the Banshee Cinchdrone’s AMEsim model, specifically finding the cyclical induction and stator winding resistance of the motors used. When I joined the team, this model used motors which lacked any proper documentation. To ensure they did not break, I did extensive research to determine the proper method of testing for the stated parameters. This led to me locating a professor on campus who knowledgeable in the subject and lent me advice.
