Charles Stephens is an Atlanta-based writer and narrative strategist. He's an alum of the Tin House Winter and VONA writing workshops, and his work has been supported by AWP, Roots.Wounds.Words, and Periplus. His writings have appeared in Copper Nickel, ArtsATL, Atlanta Magazine, the AJC, Them, and Nonprofit Quarterly. In 2014, he founded the Counter Narrative Project (CNP), where he is also the Executive Director. His community activities include serving on the Board of Directors for the Actor's Express Theatre Company and Canopy Atlanta, where he also serves as Vice-Chair. He’s been recognized by Out Georgia where he was named as one of the 100 Most Influential LGBTQIA+ Georgians, The VOX ATL Hall of Fame, and the Georgia State University College of Arts and Sciences Outstanding Alumni Award.
