For GSAS: Developed and taught the Communicating with Data course in the Data Analytics masters program.For SMFA: Taught two to three sections each of Freelancing for Creatives, Graphic Design II (Visual Systems), Publication Design, Typography: Introduction, and Visualizing Information annually, plus Color Production for Print & Screen and Digital Type Founding. Developed new courses in the graphic design sequence, implemented the new Dual Certificate program, and advised administration on curricular development, staffing, marketing, and admissions. Designed marketing materials. Served as advisor to students in the design and illustration programs. Member of advisory committee to create/implement new school identity.University-wide: Invited lecturer/consultant in Tufts’ Electrical and Computer Engineering and Environmental Sciences departments and Aidekman Arts Center. Member of university- wide Master of Science in Data Analytics major planning committee.

Taught five online sections of Strategies for Visual Communication and/or Introduction to Graphic Communication annually. Developed online course materials, resources, exam bank, and teaching guide for other communication/design instructors. Developed COMM 493 and COMM 400 Course Outcome Guides.

Projects included rebranding Susquehanna University (including wordmark, magazine, and CASE award-winning viewbook); Harvard Business School ads; Gaining Ground model book, postcards, and newsletters; and a journal design for Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.

Washington Dc-Baltimore Area

Created and implemented Copyright’s new identity system and branding strategy — including the seal, logo, and wordmark — and templates for all publications, including the website. Projects included the 280-page trade paperback Copyright Law of the United States, annual reports, two recurring monthly newsletters, circulars, flyers, brochures, bookmarks, forms, plaques, and embossers. Supervised junior designers, art-directed contract designers, and inspected press runs. Provided principal studio and event photography for the agency. Provided occasional typographic consultations for copyright registrations.

Menomonie, Wisconsin, United States

Taught nine credit hours of studio classes per semester. Directed independent studies for majors and exchange students. Advised thirty students. Chaired the department computer committee: designed and built a twenty-two station teaching computer lab. Courses taught included Graphic Design I, Graphic Design II, Information Design, Letterform Design, Publication Design, Senior Project Seminar, and Typographic Design.
