Vincennes University is now embarking on its third century of providing top quality education to undergraduates pursuing 2-year and 4-year academic programs of study in the state of Indiana. Founded in 1801, VU is Indiana's first college and is one of the oldest in America. It is the birthplace of one of the nation's first two-year institutions of higher learning.VU is state-supported with campuses in Vincennes and Jasper and additional sites such as Indianapolis, Lebanon, Plainfield, and Gibson County. A leader in developing Early Colleges statewide, VU also offers instruction at military sites throughout the nation. The Vincennes Campus covers 200+ acres and includes more than 30 major buildings. System-wide enrollment in fall, 2021 is more than 16,300. That figure includes the Vincennes and Jasper campuses as well as the VU Aviation Technology Center in Indianapolis, the Indiana School for the Deaf in Indianapolis, Distance Education, and other programs such as Project EXCEL, Early College, Military Education, and Business & Industry.
