What inspires me?I was 5 years old when I first saw an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. Since then I have discovered a lifelong passion associated with unmanned aircraft systems and related technologies. It is my professional goal to lead development and deployment of new UAS technologies to ever broader markets. I am also inspired by the challenge to do more with less. Given the pace of development today, it is crucial to continuously improve to enable success. Taking on complex, uncertain problems and delivering on time and under budget is something I will never shy away from.Finally, I consider engineering complex systems as part art and part science. I strive to develop system architectures that meet stakeholder expectations, but also push the boundaries of traditional solutions. What values define me?• I value the team over me. I do not care who gets credit, I just want to win.• I am patient. I do not make rash decisions. I assess the situation and try to understand people/data before making a key decision. • I remain calm under pressure. As things change and the project does not go as planned, I keep the team focused.• As a systems engineer with previous aerospace design experience, I have a keen ability to distinguish what small details are going to impact the big picture.What else should you know about me?• I have over 9 years of experience developing Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). • My assignments and tasking have taken me throughout the entire system life cycle, from the cradle to the grave. • As my career has progressed, my responsibilities have significantly increased; also, the complexity of the projects has increased. • I have led multi-year, multi-million dollar projects; most executed in complex organizational structures with many, many internal and external stakeholders.• I recently finished my master's in Applied Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech. • My wife and I are both from North Carolina and one day we plan on returning south.
