I have just completed my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Swinburne University of Technology with a GPA of 3.61/4, completed July 2023, and am looking forward to continuing to build my career as a scientist. I have a keen interest in the fields of inorganic chemistry, materials science and physical chemistry, and am currently seeking employment in a graduate role or similar.I have one year of experience in the industry, having completed a 12-month industry placement in 2021 with Defence Science and Technology Group in forensics and materials science. I was subsequently featured in several articles detailing the conference presentation I gave on my research at the DSTEM conference in February of 2022, including a front-page article for the defence magazine ‘Connections'. This experience ignited a love of materials science that I am excited to pursue further in the coming years.In my final year of study I also completed a 6-month research project titled the ‘design of nanomaterial decorated novel flexible carbon electrode materials’, in which I explored new avenues of carbon nanomaterial modification, by creating novel reduced graphene oxide-based aerogel composite materials, doped with nitrogen and copper, with the aim of increasing available surface area and conductivity to address the energy storage and capacity limitations of traditional electrode materials.Having previously completed a Certificate IV in Science and some further tertiary study, I have developed a solid foundation in chemistry and general science both practically and theoretically, with extensive hands-on experience with Scanning Electron Microscopy and other analytical techniques.I am a past recipient of the Jim Eilenberg Carry On (Victoria) Memorial Tertiary Education Grant, due to my GPA and strong career aspirations, and I have been awarded the 'Industry Experience' and 'Career Development' certificates as part of Swinburne University's Emerging Leader Program.I have also received a letter of commendation from Swinburne’s Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer for academic excellence, placing me among the top students in both semesters of 2020.
