Senior Group Volunteer Lead
CurrentCoordinate, train, and supervise volunteers and alternative sentencing workers daily in the Product Rescue Center throughout shift sorting operations who were able to distribute a record 50 million pounds of food into the community. Maintain quality control over entire shift by engaging, educating, inspecting, and ensuring all products are accurately sorted, coded, and stored properly; to minimize shrink and damage. Lead discussion with volunteers on the mission and operation of Atlanta Community Food Bank in efforts to fight hunger and poverty issues. Perform necessary administrative tasks i.e. keep accurate data records to communicate the importance of meeting daily goals and objective as well as provide written evaluation on volunteer experiences and production. Operate stand up and counterbalance sit down forklifts in order to process inbound and outbound trucks daily. Promote a culture where health and safety of employees and volunteers is top priority for all as a member of the safety team.
