Some of my projects included machinery design, tooling design, plant and facilities engineering, controls design, line layouts, troubleshooting and process improvements. Blister packaging, bottling, card tipping, and various secondary packaging process are also performed at this site.·Responsible for improving existing machinery, packaging processes, and recommending new equipment.·Designed and oversaw construction of machinery including the following:1)High speed rotary pouch spreading and placement system for a new product launch. Three systems were integrated into existing pouch machines. Each system started production with in one week of each other operating on a three shift basis. Over 40,000,000 systems were produced in a very tight five week campaign on time.2)Four product feeding mechanisms to take bulk plastic vials and feed them into pouches. System was designed in such a way that it can be adapted to feed many different products, with minor tooling changes, into pouches.3)Machine to transfer multiple lanes of cards from a carding machine and present them to a lot code printer.4)Tip On machine for affixing multiple products onto cards then folding and wafer sealing them closed.·Design tooling and feed systems for various flexible packaging machines.·Managed engineering aspects of Uhlmann blister machine installation.·Have worked with customer marketing groups to develop new packaging concepts.

This significantly improved machine running time and resulted in less set up between jobs. Furthermore, material and product waste were reduced.2)Replaced plant lighting from standard fixtures to high efficiency lighting. This resulted in a 20% reduction in Beacon’s lighting related electrical usage.3)Reengineered the drive system of a high speed printing press. This resulted in reduced operating costs and simplified the operation of the equipment
