About Chase Brent

I graduated in November 2019 from the Haskayne School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction Concentrating in Operations Management. During my education, I developed strong written and verbal communication skills, business analytical skills, presentation skills, and technical skills in Microsoft Office through courses and participation in group projects. I had the opportunity to travel to Japan in 2019 as a member of the Experiencing Japanese Business Group Study Program at the University of Calgary. This enabled me to gain exposure to different cultures and develop cross-cultural and international business skills through experiential learning.I was employed as a Category Buyer at Wallace & Carey Inc. from July 2020-2023. Throughout my tenure, I have acquired experience purchasing multiple product categories such as automotive, general merchandise, beverage, cannabis, and confectionary. The Covid pandemic presented me with the unique opportunity to navigate various supply-chain issues early in my career. This includes (but is not limited to) shipping/carrier shortages, labour strikes, sudden demand fluctuations, and product shortages. These challenges have emphasized the importance of implementing a collaborative approach in the workplace and engaging various stakeholders such as vendors, carriers, customers, and other departments to develop creative solutions.After 3 years at Wallace & Carey Inc., I am excited to start the next chapter of my career as a Buyer at De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited.
