As the Agency Specific Basic Training Program Coordinator and Training Instructor, I develop, design and implement comprehensive training programs for new recruits and experienced officers.- Design and implement curriculum for the Police Basic Training Academy. - Provide hands-on training in areas such as Use of Force, Control Tactics, and Active Violence Incident Response. - Conduct role-playing exercises and scenario-based training for recruits and experienced law enforcement personnel to develop critical decision-making and de-escalation skills.- Manages training records and documentation of recruit progress, attendance, and performance evaluations.- Conducts regular assessments and evaluations of recruits' progress and performance through written exams, practical exercises, and skills evaluations. Rate and score training participants. - Analyzes the results and exercises independent judgment and discretion in making recommendations to management on training policies and procedures. - Execute remedial and/or corrective action for employees when necessary. Participate in the decision process for retaining employees beyond the probationary period.- Develop and enforce academy policies and procedures.- Serve as a liaison between the training academy and the Police Operations division, government officials, and local law enforcement agencies.- Handles any emergencies or crises that may arise during training, such as medical emergencies, disciplinary issues, or safety concerns.- Prepares regular reports on the progress and performance of recruits and the overall training program for higher-level law enforcement officials and agencies.- Staying current with the latest trends, best practices, and developments in law enforcement training through ongoing education and professional development. Collaborates with subject matter experts to update and enhance training materials to reflect the latest law enforcement best practices and legal developments.
