I created ChatterBox Projects back in 2013 when most of the engagement we were undertaking when working in local government (over 22 years!!) was going online with the creation of some amazing online engagement tools and platforms. During my last few years at Banyule, I spent a year with my then team, popping up across the municipality engaging with the community to develop two strategic plans, an Arts Plan and a Recreation Plan. During this engagement we tested and used a range of engagement tools that we hadn't used before including a little pop-up caravan called Nellie. Nellie was named after the first woman to hold office in Victoria and she was the Mayor of the then City of Heidelberg. I realised during this time that engaging with people on the ground was the best way to gather feedback and ideas from many who would never have engaged with Council before and to get a real temperature check of what was really happening in the community. It was also during this time I realised I loved having random conversations and being creative in the way that we encourage the community to connect with us and provide their ideas and feedback. It was after this and during a dinner party with friends where a few wines gave me the courage to create and launch ChatterBox Projects with our first trailer arriving in December 2013.We are now over 10 years old and have become a highly skilled and experienced community engagement company with extensive knowledge in delivering end-to-end community engagement services.Check out our website and Facebook page to see what we have been up to over the past 10 years.
