Emergency Department Technician
CurrentUnder the supervision of the Registered Nurse and physician, responsibilities include assisting the Emergency Department staff and physicians in providing patient care and set up/assist during emergency patient care procedures. Phlebotomist related assignments consist of collect blood samples, tissue or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepared them for testing.Provide basic patient care and treatments, such as taking temperatures, blood pressures and dressing wounds. Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patient's responses and conditions. As a unit-clerk/ monitor technician I am able to understand and monitor the patient's cardiac rhythm status, providing a variety of clerical duties relating to the updating and organization of information in the Emergency Department. As well as direct the flow of communication between other units, departments, other hospitals and outside medical offices.
