Chelsea VelezProgram Coordinator and Social Media Manager | Social Advocate | ArtistI am a dedicated Program Coordinator with a strong commitment to plant-based advocacy, youth empowerment, and food justice. My work revolves around introducing plant-based options into K-12 public school lunches, both at the local and federal levels. I had the privilege of assisting in organizing our Youth Steering Committee's first D.C. Fly-In, where we engaged with congressional staffers to advocate for compassionate, healthier, climate-friendly, and culturally appropriate public school meal choices. In addition to my role as a Program Coordinator, I also serve as the Social Media Manager for Vegan Activist Alliance, leveraging online platforms to advance our message of the interconnectedness between anti-speciesism, anti-capitalism, anti-imperialism, decolonization, abolition, and anti-racism. As an artist at heart, I firmly believe in the power of art as a catalyst for social change. My overarching commitment lies in striving for collective liberation, recognizing the interconnectedness of oppression across all Beings (human and beyond-human alike).
