I am an Endangered Species Biologist with NOAA Fisheries Pacific Islands Regional Office, Protected Resources Division. I have over a decade of experience in marine resource conservation across a wide breadth of ecosystems and taxa. I specialize in the management and conservation of threatened and endangered species under the U.S. Endangered Species Act, with a current focus on elasmobranchs (sharks and rays). In my current position, I implement Section 4 of the ESA, which includes responding to petitions to list species under the ESA, conducting species status reviews, writing rules and regulations, designating critical habitat, and developing recovery plans for listed species. I am also the Pacific Islands lead for recovery planning for the oceanic whitetip shark (Carcharhinus longimanus) and giant manta ray (Manta birostris).
