I worked at vodaphone as a christmas temp, my work involved taking off some of the heat from the full time employees by selling the pay as you go phones so they could concentrate on selling contract and buisness phones.

My job at Morrisons was to make sure that the salad bar was full, clean, fresh and in the right place. Make fresh pizza's to put on the shop floor. Stock the shelves in my area. Often help customer's out with finding a product whether it was in my area or out. Clean the area thoroughly. Reduce or dispose of out of date stock. Make sure the area was a safe environment to work in.
