As an associate professor at Dalian Maritime University, I am excited to announce my involvement with the Center for Ports and Maritime Safety and Sailing College. My primary focus will be on developing a sea ice and wave forecast system that will provide accurate and reliable predictions for hazardous wave-ice conditions, ultimately improving navigation.

Apply data assimilation method on a novel sea ice forecast model-neXtSIM, home developed at NERSC. The work involves data assimilation of satellite observations, sea-ice physics modeling, executing ensemble forecasts by parallel computing on HPC, analysis ensemble sea ice forecasts, and evaluating the probabilistic forecast predictability.

• Calibrate a viscoelastic wave-in-ice model for pack ice with data from SARimagery, and in-situ data for pancake ice in a wave event.
• Improve wave-in-ice module IC3 for the development team of theoperational wave model WAVEWATCH III.
• Determine the equivalent elastic parameter of elastic plates under wavepropagation through the strain energy approach.
