• Supported diverse students (immersion, online, first-year, and transfer undergraduates) in degree planning, registration, graduate program application, career planning, and understanding ASU policies and procedures by designing and delivering the virtual new online student workshops (1-4 students), one-on-one advising appointments (in-person, zoom, phone), virtual open-advising, and Salesforce email communications.• Recruited 10 high-achieving undergraduates to SPGS’ accelerated M.A. programs.• Improved SPGS’ undergraduate retention rate by 1% in Spring 2024 by the proactive email outreach campaign targeting students who were not enrolled and/or not in good academic standing.• Brainstormed ideas for the in-person Fall Welcome event (100 students) and guided students on site.

Evaluated the validity of research methods and findings in 5 leading political science journal articles using critical thinking.Advised on experiment designs and grant writing, helped one colleague run the experiment using the SPGS lab and published the result in a peer-reviewed journal, as well as assisted another to get a $20,000 fellowship.

Instructed 10+ undergraduate level political science classes of 20-100 students in research methods and substantial fields; designed syllabuses; prepared and managed class materials on Blackboard and Canvas; planned discussion sessions and field-trips; led 1-1.5 hours lectures; held office hours. Assessed student work by grading their class discussions, presentations, quizzes, essays, exam questions, and attendance.

Planned and marketed events for up to 60 students, delivered a special speech about Mid-Autumn Festival in Asia collaborating with Bridges staff to promote students’ awareness of globalization.

Wrote two book chapters totaling 30 pages on nationalism and a four-page book review on Chinese urban policy published by Nanjing University Press and Taiwan Foundation for Democracy.Translated English lecture slides and scripts to Chinese by well-known scholars, published the translation totaling 50 pages on leading peer-reviewed journals.Coordinated two domestic and international conferences with other departments of the university, managed the accommodation of attendees, guided visiting scholars a tour around the campus and Nanjing, co-edited the bilingual (Chinese and English) brochures and distributed them to 100 attendees to keep them informed of the conference agendas, timed and reminded the presenters to ensure the conference proceed in the planned pace.

Planned 6 biweekly academic and professional workshops for political and public-policy graduate students, promoted the events by designing and printing the posters, wrote five 500 - 1000 words workshop briefings published on the school website, gaining accolades from the guest speakers.Organized the annual Political Literacy Contest involving 50 participants from all around Nanjing University, brainstormed the question bank used in the contest, budgeted the event and ordered the equipment needed.Performed in a student-directed drama as a supporting role in the New Graduate Student Orientation.

Won the Best Debater in Southeast University Debate Games, coached the debate team in weekly 1-hour training sessions, placed 2 students in the university debate team in the regional-level debate games involving 3 provinces.

Developed the community service program with Nanjing Museum of Folk Culture,allowing 100+ students to get weekly volunteer opportunities to further their knowledge of the local art and culture in Nanjing.
