After being hit in the face by a realisation that I would not make it as a world famous acting superstar sensation. I sat down and asked myself what else I was good at. . . selfies! However when my arm could not bend, twist or maneuver the way I wanted it to, I decided to share the spotlight and began bending and twisting for others. Whilst continuously being asked by my peers in University to take their headshots I grew a new passion for photography without losing the same passion I had for acting. Being an actor helped me draw on my subjects emotions through improvisation. By asking them to internalise that emotion, it allowed that same emotion to be emphasized within their eyes. Making a beautiful and meaningful photograph. I then moved on to experimental portraits. This allowed me to play around with lighting, shadows, colours and put my own touch on the end product. I also found out what worked and what did not. As time went on I questioned why I am not offering my services to the world. It was then the wheels were in motion and Meraki Visuals was born. Meraki Visuals Pronounciation - May-ra-keeadj; A word modern Greeks often use to describe doing something with soul, creativity or love - when you put 'something of yourself into what you are doing, whatever it may be'. . . MerakiThe name fit the company like a glove.
