Hey there, it's Cher! I'm a Hong-Kong Canadian immigrant, storyteller, and advocate with a passion to build global communities. With an International Development degree and Social Business minor studied at the University of Waterloo and practiced in Peru and Bolivia, my heartbeat for advocacy is fuelled by the resilient humans and stories of transformation I have encountered. As an advocate with an entrepreneurial mind and a passion to drive positive global change, I am experienced in launching social ventures and lobbying high-level government officials for global development policies. Through my public speaking expertise and artistic skills, I've inspired and mobilized communities to advocate for social justice issues. I have lived and seen the collective impact youth can drive in development policies and funding. And now, as World Vision Canada's Youth Advocacy Engagement Specialist, I get to foster greater grounds for more young leaders to actualize global change locally through community. In 2020, I had the honor to receive the Heroes for Children - Ruth Robers Award from World Vision Canada and was recognized as a “bright young leader with an intense passion for the developing world”.Let's connect!
