Duties and Responsibilities:• Develop and maintain a professional development plan for the college. • Develop and provide professional development opportunities for faculty and staff:o new faculty orientation, o spring and fall in-service day programs for faculty and staff, o coordinating and dispersing the college’s professional development budget,o organizing and contracting Professional Development Initiative Courses through USC and Clemson University, o coordinating awards from the Midlands Technical College Foundation to faculty and staff, o acting as college coordinator for the International Education Consortium, Multicultural Series Committee, NISOD awards and technology training, o coordinating and analyzing college-wide student evaluation of instruction,o coordinating, analyzing, and providing leadership for distance learning programs offered by the college. • Directed a Title III Strengthening Institutions Grant (June, 1998- October, 2001). Activities included:o leading the college effort to meet the objectives of the five year grant, o hiring personnel to perform grant activities, o dispersing the $3.6M dollar budget in accordance with federal, state, and college regulations,o incorporating the activities of the grant into the normal operations of the college.
