EHS Business Partner for Life Science Integrated Supply Chain Operations (LS-ISCO)

• Responsible for EH&S programs for approximately 2,200 employees covering 8 facilities in the St. Louis metropolitan area.• Manage personnel and budgetary issues for a 22-member team consisting of EHS professionals, environmental services employees, and security personnel.• Oversee and manage security operations, equipment and protocol in support of assets and employees at the St. Louis sites, to include management of a contract security workforce of 26 armed security officers.• Oversee compliance of site operations and security in accordance with the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards via Department of Homeland Security.• Direct and manage necessary environmental permitting, recordkeeping and reporting for highly-regulated facilities that include major sources for HAPs/VOCs and Large Quantity Generators of hazardous waste. Other regulatory areas under my direct or indirect oversight include TTB/ATF, NRC, SARA, and FIFRA.• Direct and ensure compliance with OSHA-mandated safety programs, including provisions for required employee training. Direct and ensure compliance with required elements of Process Safety Management for six production areas. Oversee management of emergency response team.• Review capital projects at all St. Louis facilities for required safety and environmental elements.• Oversee employee medical monitoring, workers compensation, and completion of OSHA-required recordkeeping.

• Responsible for all EHS programs for approximately 1,900 employees covering 7 facilities in the St. Louis metropolitan area, to include chemical/pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, biotechnology research activities, warehouse operations, and Corporate Sigma-Aldrich office functions.• Review injury and incident trends across St. Louis facilities and oversee continuous enhancements to existing EHS programs in order to be best-in-class• Assist in the development of and ultimately implement new EHS procedures that are driven out of the Corporate EHS office.• Directly manage a department of eight EHS professionals, a department of six environmental services employees, and a $1.6M St. Louis Security Services account.• Review and approve all capital projects generated within St. Louis facilities, to include a documented assessment for all environmental, safety and loss-prevention implications. Interface with regulatory authorities and insurance company, as necessary, as the projects proceed through design and construction.• Direct the Process Safety Management Program, to include chairing the PSM Committee and managing all elements of Process Safety Management for six unique manufacturing areas in St. Louis.• Oversee employee medical monitoring, workers compensation, and completion of OSHA-required recordkeeping.

• Managed two Sr. EH&S Specialists and one EH&S Technician.• Maintained safety policies and procedures, and coordinated necessary employee training on those procedures.• Provided site safety lead for major manufacturing facility, to include full responsibility for injury/incident event investigations and identification and closure of corrective actions following those events.• Completed all environmental reporting, recordkeeping and permitting for 11 facilities; served as primary liaison with environmental agency inspections.• Coordinated and assisted in oversight of emergency response team, to include execution of necessary training and maintenance of emergency equipment used on-site.

• Completed environmental reporting, recordkeeping and permitting; served as primary liaison for environmental inspections.• Participated in multi-media EPA inspection, which resulted in many years of follow-up on issues identified across RCRA, SARA, CWA, and CAA regulatory areas.• Provided project oversight consisting of Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, significant levels of soil sampling, characterization and remediation efforts in conjunction with a Brownfields Redevelopment Project, participating in the Voluntary Cleanup Program under the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
