The Electonic Caregiver is a Medical Alert System that goes far beyond what an individual typically finds in a "medical pendant'. Series 3 allows the client to get up to 12 medication reminders a day, two activity check in's one in the morning and one in the evening, and health tip reminders, along with the typical GPS tracking all included in the basic package.Series 2 includes all this plus you have a phone app available to family members whom you choose, up to three individuals. These individuals can track their loved ones as well as send personal messages; a convenient pouch is also included with this package.Series I, the premier package, includes everything in Series 2 plus an additional colored pendant and access to PocketMD. PockedMD allows the client to get in touch with a doctor 24\7. The doctor can assess the situation and call medication to the client's pharmacy. There are no limits on how often a client can use this service.A fall detection device is also available for a one-time charge of $50 when the system is purchased; there is no additional monthly fee for the fall detection.You are not charged for the equipment, only the service. There are no contracts; a client can cancel at any time.

As Elder Care Coordinator I evaluate clients to see what their needs are. This includes any medical intervention, living arrangements (assist with placement into long-term care communities), access to community resources and advocacy for the client and their family. I do an initial assessment with the client and their family and then make regular visit (every 8 weeks) to check on their progress. I am available to the client’s 24/7 if needed.

At VOYCE, I was the Director of Ombudsman Services/Regional Coordinator of St. Louis County, South County, Jefferson, and Franklin Counties. As the Regional Coordinator for VOYCE, I advocated for the rights of residents in long-term care facilities. If a resident/family ever had a complaint about the care/treatment they were receiving, they could call me, and I would investigate the allegation and, if valid, work with the facility to resolve. I was the Director of the Elder Abuse Program for five years. The Program "SERVE" would work with the Department of Health and Senior Services to provide resources to seniors/disabled residents who were traumatized in the nursing home due to elder abuse.
