I am a passionate changemaker with a drive to create and foster positive change in our community. I previously left a career in the tech industry and returned to school in search of a greater purpose. While there, I became a founding leader of the SDSU Student Ability Network, an organization founded on the idea of finding the leader in every individual by focusing on their strengths. I graduated from San Diego State University and began teaching students with disabilities.In early 2017, I began to get involved in campaigns for issues and candidates I believed in and have continued since. In 2020, I ran for School Board in the Lemon Grove School District and won by a landslide! I look forward to continually working with our district team to build a district focused on equity and growth. In January of 2021, the Governing Board unanimously voted in favor of RESOLUTION #2020-21-05: COMMITMENT TO EQUITY IN LEMON GROVE SCHOOL DISTRICT.My passion for strengthening our communities is strong. I hope to continue my efforts influencing change in a day job. I am seeking a transition into activism, community organizing and/or the nonprofit sector. All of my skills are highly transferable.
