About Cheryl Close, M.Ed., Mcc
Mission: Coaching Executives & Leadership Teams to Make an ImpactCheryl Close is an expert in leadership development. She began her career in education and was quickly recognized as a leader. She loved teaching/training and discovered she was very successful in helping others achieve their goals. While serving as a Principal, Cheryl’s leadership abilities were recognized by being honored to accept the No Child Left Behind, National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award in Washington D.C. In 2008, she co-created a coaching-based leadership development program. Her program has been adopted and used by one of the largest districts in the state of Texas for ten years. Cheryl has served as its Leadership Coach for all new and aspiring administrators.Cheryl founded Close Coaching and Consulting, LLC in 2011. In only her third year as a coach, the North Texas Chapter of the International Coach Federation recognized her Leadership Development program with the Prism Award for Coaching Excellence. ICF is recognized as the global leader in professional coaching. Cheryl has trained groups of 6 to 100 + leaders on topics such as:• Coaching for Real Change• How to be the Leader Everyone Wants to Follow; • It’s All About the People – Building Strong Workplace Relationships; • Communication – Why It’s So Challenging and How to Make It Fun and Easy; • Decision, Decisions, Decisions; • Becoming a Cohesive, Powerful Leadership Team. Cheryl has successfully coached senior leaders in business, medical, non-profit, government, and higher education, and entrepreneur sectors, empowering them to reach their goals and significantly improve their performance. She specializes in working with Executives promoted to new positions. In addition to coaching individual mid-level and senior leaders, Cheryl assists leadership teams and Boards to move from dysfunctional to cohesive and powerful. Cheryl is a Master Certified Coach (MCC) through the International Coach Federation and also a member of their North Texas Chapter.
