About Cheryl Detrick

I am a President/CEO at Newcap, Inc., a community action agency serving 10 northeastern Wisconsin counties since 1965. I have been in this role since 2016, leading a team of dedicated professionals who work with low-income families and individuals to help them achieve self-sufficiency and well-being. I am also a Certified Community Action Professional (CCAP) since 2018, demonstrating my commitment and expertise in the field of community action.My personal mission is to ferociously support people as they make a difference in their lives and the lives of others. I draw upon my diverse background in chamber of commerce, construction, development, and real estate to bring innovative and strategic solutions to the complex challenges facing our communities. I am passionate about embracing a Whole Family Approach, a family-led strategy that provides adults and children with the tools they need to set and meet goals together as a family. I also value the Family-Centered Coaching approach, which recognizes the impacts of institutional discrimination and implicit bias, and fosters trusted relationships with clients and colleagues based on humility, curiosity, and flexibility.
