It was with trepidation that I applied to CN for a conductor position over 17 years ago. A vacancy came available on Town Council and myself along with three others put our names in for the seat. On September 7, 2016 I was the successful candidate. While a Councillor I investigated and learned how we could diversify our housing market, our business and commercial tax base and enhance the lives of residents.

Established the Municipal Service Corporation, first (MSC) for the community, to address housing needs. Following and implementing the recommendations from the Housing and Demands Study to diversify housing selection to new and established Hornepayne residents. The MSC was a key component to the attraction of the Motel Sudio 6 that is currently under construction within the Township.

The HSAPIT is comprised of municipal leaders and industry experts who will provide advice to the government on the implementation and evaluation of progress of Ontario’s housing supply action plans, and other issues as identified by the government. This is an empowering and demonstrative group of individuals who are working at meeting challenges to bring solid action to Ontario’s Housing Crisis.

The task force considered and consulted key stakeholders on key policy issues to inform the Fall Economic Statement of 2021 in the following areas: 1. Supporting women as they enter and re-enter the workforce, 2. Supporting women's entrepreneurship and 3. Removing Barriers for Women to Enter Fields Where They are Under-Represented, Including Skilled Trades and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Fields.

Worked along with Board to ensure Hornepayne Hospital was fully Accredited Facility which was granted. Worked and represented the Hospital at the provincial level to bring health issues and small-town needs to the forefront of the province. Continue to collaborate to ensure that we have physicians and medical staff to meet community needs.

Hornepayne Public Library - Board Chair - Before my Council Experience as the library board chair and effectively managed drastic change when we faced the closure of our facility. On boarded the CAO and worked closely to ensure that service was not disrupted or decreased.
