CurrentSignify acquired Cooper Lighting in March 2020. Cooper Lighting Solutions manufactures and sells commercial and industrial lighting solutions. As the Global Trade Manager, my responsibilities require ensuring full compliance with U.S. and applicable international regulations.I manage all facets of US trade compliance and coordination with Canada and Mexico trade, as well as providing expertise and information to all process owners throughout the company on a variety of subjects (Export requirements, Country of Origin requirements, USMCA, Assists, Value and USMCA Reconciliation, etc.). I have developed auditing programs to ensure there are positive government reviews. Export Compliance responsibilities include Sanctioned Party List screening, product reviews, assignment of Harmonized Tariff Schedule and ECCN codes.Successes -Developed a former part-time compliance position into a "best in class" program with minimal staff.Created all process documents and lead trainings with relevant staff and business leaders pertaining to their role in Global Trade.Instituted C-TPAT for Cooper Lighting in 2008, manage all successful revalidations. Implemented and manage a successful ISF reporting program. Started a US Reconciliation process with Customs.Developed process improvements for freight movement crossing contiguous borders.Communicate with vendors all over the world to ensure that their documents are complete and correct for our US imports.Currently working on signing our company up for ACH direct duty payments.I consider myself a problem solver and a consensus builder, which means I work well with other teams (including Signify teams) to find the best - and most compliant - solutions to problems.
