I spent 3 years of my life in the past and it led me to my future, and I didn’t even know it.I was a nerdy kid in small town high school, who had a love for technology, video games and history of all things. I loved history so much, that I spent three years of my high school life creating display projects for the National History Day program. Deep diving research on local history was my favorite and it showed. These displays were my gateway to what I wanted to do in life. Little did I know then but finding the best way to tell the story from start to finish, with graphics and images was what I was meant to do. Graphic design has always been something I loved even back before I knew it. Print media was my true love when I came to graphic design. Spending hours laying out a newspaper or magazine. The thrill of the deadline and the late nights to get it done. Working nonstop to create something amazing that told a story. All the while a whole new media was forming around me, and I was falling in love with it. I just loved social media and how it could take a no name mom and papa store and make them huge or that unknown artist to someone well known. Being a gamer, I connected with small time gamers in Utah. Creating graphics and social media plans for them. Helping them grow their Twitch streams and tell their stories. That love of video games helped me know my target audience better, and land me an internship helping a local gaming center. Helping grow this little unknown business to a thriving hang out spot for kids and teenagers and hub for parties. That’s when I knew my passion was the little guys, small business. Helping tell small business stories that they don’t even know they have.
